One of the most unique affordances of cloud computing is the ability for next level collaboration. While data sharing was formerly only possible when individuals were located in close physical proximity and could access the same hardwired network, hosted data storage allows geographically disparate employees to access the same enterprise-level data regardless of location, maximizing efficiencies and productivity.
Already a leader in the cloud industry – especially after its recent acquisition of cloud-based voice specialization firm M5 – Avaya has recently announced that it will be increasing the collaboration services offered with a new “Collaborative Cloud” framework as well as a strategic partnership with fiber-based communications firm Level 3 Communications.
According to reports, the Collaborative Cloud will enable superior collaboration through a number of different business models, meaning that it will be equally effective for business officials operating within a private, public or hybrid cloud.
Additionally, as part of the framework, it is reported that Avaya’s immersive collaborative online platform AvayaLive Engage will be deploying additional features to enhance the offerings available. For example, the platform will afford better support for Mac OS X and the web browser Safari with superior collaborative tools such as video collaboration and conferencing.
As Brett Shockley, a representative of Avaya’s Applications and Emerging Technology department mentioned in a press release: “The Collaborative Cloud formalizes Avaya’s cloud strategy. It expands our current portfolio of cloud-based solutions to encompass new offers from the public cloud. Over the year, we will continue building new cloud-based solutions in a variety of highly flexible delivery models, enabling our customers and partners to access, utilize and extend the value of Avaya’s applications, platforms and infrastructure.
Considering the substantial upgrades to Avaya’s portfolio, any businesses that believe they would benefit from these advanced collaboration and unified communications tools would be well advised to partner with a Chicago managed IT service such as CTI Technology that is an authorized reseller of Avaya products.
