Increasing communication channel transparency for SMBs with a managed IT service

In order to keep pace, SMBs need to show customers a certain value added, which can often be accomplished by optimizing communications channels.

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) experience a significant amount of adversity in the modern marketplace. Because larger enterprise competitors have more resources, they can often supply their product or service to the consumer faster and at lower cost.

Consequently, in order to keep pace, SMBs need to show customers a certain value added, which can often be accomplished by optimizing communications channels and ensuring that consumers can seamlessly reach a customer service representative through a number of different convenient channels.

In order to study how effectively SMBs are deploying this potential advantage, vSplash – a provider of SMB digital marketing solutions – recently announced the development of an innovative technology called SMB DigitalScape that can collect and analyze data from a huge amount of websites quickly.

Interestingly, after SMB DigitalScape analyzed data from 700,000 SMB websites in the United States, it seems that SMB officials are not utilizing communications resources effectively for competative advantage.

“In an era when connecting and conducting business via the Web and mobile devices is increasing, SMBs are failing to capitalize on evolving consumer behavior trends and the vast digital commerce opportunity,” said Umesh Tibrewal of vSplash. “We launched SMB DigitalScape to bring to the forefront the challenges SMBs face in leveraging the Web and trends in social, local and mobile connectivity for driving their business success.”

For example, the technology found that 60 percent of SMB sites fail to provide a viable phone number on their homepage while more than 70 percent failed to do the same with regard to an email address.

In order to better position SMBs in the modern corporate landscape, it would benefit officials in Chicago to turn to a managed IT service such as CTI Technology that can provide unified communications solutions.

By taking this measure, IT professionals can integrate phone and mediated channels into one unified system that can be clearly advertised. Consequently, customers will be able to submit inquiries and place orders without having to struggle to find disjointed pieces of contact information.
