New study predicts VoIP enterprise adoption growth

VoIP business phone systems are solving a multitude of different problems that diminished the utility of Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS).

In fact, according to a recent study, many business officials are recognizing the usefulness of VoIP adoption, as the enterprise VoIP equipment market is slated to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 15 percent between 2010 and 2014. As a summary of the study mentions, “VoIP provides a central system that efficiently handles a large amount of information and maintains transparency. This has increased the adoption of VoIP by organizations and is thus driving the market.”

By contrast, because POTS required all phone lines to be hardwired in-house, businesses using antiquated phone services became a disjointed series of different networks that stood in the way of effective employee collaboration and communication.

Moreover, businesses that have multiple operations center were forced to deploy the services of multiple phone companies, pay multiple bills and install new phone lines if the current infrastructure was becoming overwhelmed.

Solving these many issues, VoIP telephony systems integrate all of a business’ different communication platforms into one unified server with one bill that can be expanded and decreased as needed. In addition to putting instant messaging, phone messages, email and more all into the same place, VoIP increases efficiencies by affording other benefits such as remote work, since the system operates on an IP-based server and can be accessed virtually anywhere.

This also presents opportunities of cost-efficiency for business officials because when employees can work from outside the primary office, the brick-and-mortar facility could potentially be downsized, saving a large amount in pricey real estate fees.

Considering these many benefits and the expected growth of the VoIP enterprise equipment market, business officials looking to promote employee collaboration and productivity while keeping up with competitors can do so by hiring a provider of business phone systems to tailor a VoIP program to the specifications of individual business models.
