One of the largest benefits of implementing a unified communication option is mobility. Using a smartphone or tablet to answer calls, emails and instant messages from the field as quickly as sitting in the office is a growing benefit for businesses. The Scottsdale school system and ShoreTel, however, have taken the idea of mobility to a new level.
On July 24 the two entities launched the eCoach, which is a converted old school bus that is now a mobile classroom, designed to train educators on the latest technology tools before using them in schools.
It is amazing the learning tools available to students today,” said Kevin Gavin, chief marketing officer at ShoreTel in a press release. “The school district’s motto of ‘Engage, Educate and Empower Every Student, Every Day’ is truly demonstrated by the technology being put into the classrooms within Scottsdale USD. The ingenuity and vision behind the eCoach is commendable.”
On board the eCoach is a small replication of the technology that can be found in the classroom. Unified communications options including business phone solution, computers, video and messaging systems are all operational. ShoreTel will also be updating the hardware and software regularly to ensure the latest versions of technology are available.
The 1,700 teachers from Scottsdale’s 33 schools are not the only ones who will get to see the inside of the bus. Students, parents and community members will also be allowed to explore the new technology.
Many enterprises are benefiting from implementing a unified communications solution. By partnering with an experienced ShoreTel provider like CTI technology, a school system can start benefiting from better communication.
