Study: Mobile devices set for bigger business impact in 2013

As the functionality of mobile devices have grown, so too have a number of other trends like mobile gaming, shopping, payment solutions and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) solutions. Using a smartphone to check company email or receive office calls while on the road have has become commonplace. Frost and Sullivan – a growth partnership company – has released its 2013 enterprise mobile outlook which found the devices are set to have an even bigger impact on the corporate world.

Jessie Yu, a senior analyst for Frost and Sullivan mentions that as companies look for more flexible offers to meet their evolving needs, unified communication becomes a much have practice.

“As mobility becomes an absolute requirement, smartphones and tablets are slated to become one of the primary devices for communication and collaboration,” said Yu in the press release. “However, the collaboration across mobile enterprises is still at the early stage. Basic features like mobile email, instant messaging are the key elements. Moving forwards, with the fast-growing mobile internet usage, enterprise mobility is expected to nurture the fragmented UC-as-a- Service (UCaaS) market into the booming period.”
