Branson talks succeeding in a business market without experience

While the biggest business success stories often feature main players that weren’t the most well-versed in business – Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg come to mind, entrepreneurs that are seeking to establish themselves without ample business experience often need to go to lengths to differentiate their service from the pack, whether they’re trying to appease investors, customers or business partners.

In a recent interview with Entrepreneur Magazine, billionaire business magnate Richard Branson shared some advice on how those without this experience can leverage this perceived disadvantage so that it becomes an asset.

Branson, who owns more than 400 companies under Virgin Group and is one of the richest people in the world, told the news source that business owners should start by asking themselves, “How does your approach differ from that of other businesses?”

In addition, Branson mentioned other vital questions that owners should consider. In particular, he suggested that business owners evaluate how they plan to reach out into new markets, chose the products and services they will offer and present a fresh take on their industry.

However, there are other factors that may contribute to a business’ success that were left unmentioned by the billionaire mogul. For instance, business owners who are looking to establish a new brand may want to evaluate the strength of their customer service.

By investing in forward-thinking technology such as brand new New York or Chicago phone systems for their offices, entrepreneurs can help build a base of customers. In addition, with the cloud computing solutions offered by these tools, owners may be able to attract the best talent by offering them the ability to work remotely, whether in other business offices or around the world.
