Trefor Davies, a council member at the Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association, recently spoke with Taylor Vinters Solicitors about the benefits of VoIP telephony services. One of the aspects he chose to highlight in this conversation was its ability to allow employees to take their phone number with them.
This has dynamic implications for businesses that are trying to increase productivity from their existing workforce in light of the recent economic troubles in the United States. For example, this ability gives workers the tools to make important correspondences and employee interactions from home. This means communications that used to need to wait until the next business day in the event of a weather alert or other local problem can be completed with businesses across the country on the same day.
In addition to the extra work it allows employees to achieve, Davies says businesses could see a significant economic benefit regardless of whether they upgrade to sophisticated New York or Chicago phone systems.
“It is not unusual for a business to halve their communications costs by moving to VoIP,” Davies said, according to internet solutions company Telappliant.
